Small warning signs often come before a blocked drain overflows:

Home of the Ashgrovian. Ashgrove is known for its Ashgrovian houses, a 1920s and 1930s style of Queenslander with an asymmetrical pyramid roof, gables, verandahs and batten skirts. The suburb grew quickly after the tram came along Waterworks Road in 1924. Pipework from that era can have joints that crack or shift, letting roots in.
Two creeks. Ithaca Creek and Enoggera Creek both pass through Ashgrove, with linear parks and bikeways along them. Properties on low ground near the creeks rely on clear stormwater drains to shed water in heavy rain.
